Officials announced that all schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar will have a early dismissal at 2 pm on September 21 and will remain closed on September 22. This is due to the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show and the MotoGP race taking place in Greater Noida. In addition, colleges and universities have been instructed to conduct online classes, if necessary, and remain closed for offline classes.
The district inspector of schools, Dharmveer Singh, issued separate orders for schools and other educational institutions, stating that the UP ITS 2023 and the MotoGP race will attract a large number of visitors and spectators. The orders are in compliance with the instructions of the district magistrate to ensure the safety and convenience of students and parents considering the potential crowds, security arrangements, and traffic management.
These orders apply to all schools and educational institutions in Noida and Greater Noida. It is expected that there will be a significant number of visitors, including foreigners, attending both events. President Droupadi Murmu is also expected to attend the events.
To further manage the situation, CrPC section 144 has already been implemented, prohibiting large gatherings and the use of private drones in the district. Traffic diversions have been implemented in Noida and Greater Noida to reduce congestion.
Private companies, particularly IT-based firms, have been advised to consider allowing employees to work from home and adjust their shift timings during the event period to alleviate traffic congestion.
